DRD Group are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join a project in Henderson, working within the marine and defence industry. This role involves assembling, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling mechanical components and systems on naval and commercial vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical fitting, maintenance, and repairs on marine and defence vessels.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Carry out installation and alignment of engines, pumps, gearboxes, and propulsion systems.
- Work closely with engineers, welders, and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
- Experience working in the marine, defence, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of marine mechanical systems, including engines, hydraulics, and pumps.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
